In the world of politics, there's lots of discussion about "the richest 1% of Americans" or "the bottom 20% in median income" and on and on.
Of course, it's always a useful reminder that the USA is the wealthiest nation in the world. It's a bit astonishing to realize that this might be the only country in the world where people considered poor own televisions. (Of course, that might also say something about the disposable-product thinking of our rich folks.)
