Found this nugget buried inside a study done by the Pew Internet and American Life Project:
47% of online Americans aged 18-64 and 37% of online Americans aged 65+ went online to find political news or information.
So, over a third of those seniors who are online used the net for political info. And don't think they aren't online. There's been a senior surge online - since 2000, a 47% increase in the number of seniors going online - up to 22% of all seniors. And half of those have made an online purchase - a small step to making a donation online.
Yeah, political websites often get narrowcast as a way to reach young people. And while that may be true, seniors are online, too. Ignore this high-voting demographic at your peril.
