I'm not sure I'd recommend this approach for much in the way of direct mail, but sometimes it can be useful to add a handwritten element to a printed piece.
When that's called for, stay away from the standard "handwriting" fonts. Everyone recognizes them.
Instead, for just nine bucks, get your handwriting (or say, your candidate's handwriting) turned into a complete and usable font.
