Well, we stirred up quite the kerfuffle when we noticed a comment on DailyKos (by Kos himself) about the impending death of MeetUp.com.
While lots of folks are discussing the implications of the new fee structure there, we also heard directly from the MeetUp guys - who are, of course, disclaiming any doomsday scenarios.
Over at the Personal Democracy Forum, Christian Crumlish has a lengthy round-up of the fee discussion and the various open-source and other services that are swooping in to fill the void. Emmett O'Connell, who blogs at Olympia Time, is talking about the DNC stepping into the breach to provide MeetUp-like tools (here and here).
