A low search engine ranking is a common problem early in campaigns. One that's usually remedied fairly quickly, if you're doing the right things. But every once in a while, there's a candidate whose campaign website just can't quite climb up to the top of the results.
And then, there's former U.S. senator Rick Santorum, who just announced a run (er, exploratory committee) for president. His search engine problem is a couple of orders of magnitude worse - and he largely has himself to blame.
You see, as a result of some really outrageous and offensive stuff that Rick once said about gays and lesbians, he's been the target of probably the most effective and long-term political "Google bombing" in history.
Here's Santorum and his team talking about the situation with Roll Call.
